When a chainsaw-wielding maniac is thrown into Shakespeare's classic tragedy, amidst the romance, blood flies, as members of high-society Verona are taken down one by one... TITLE: Sherlock Holmes and the Case of Hamlet
CASTING: 7m/1f DESCRIPTION: Sherlock Holmes and the Case of Hamlet is a farce written by Canadian playwrights Warren Bain and Matt Bernard, in which Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson face their toughest challenge yet. Hamlet's father has mysteriously died and the world's greatest detective has been called in to solve the case. The story blends the famous detective of Baker Street with Shakespeare's most well-known tragedy. It includes a host of improvisational antics, lively sound effects, and literary puns to keep audiences young and old laughing throughout the quirky investigation. TITLE: A Midsummer’s Nightmare or
How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Desdemona Anyway CASTING: 5 m/f DESCRIPTION: A Midsummer’s Nightmare or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Desdemona Anyway is a farce written by Canadian playwrights Warren Bain and Matt Bernard. Adapted and inspired by William Shakespeare’s box-office hits Othello and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this play is about a magical forest, jealousy, betrayal, and there are five actors who play thirteen parts. The play starts off with the plot line of Othello, then uses the influences of the Midsummer Night’s fairies to alter the original storyline that Shakespeare wrote for the characters of Othello. What will Puck get up to next? How much flower love potion can one play handle? Will Iago get the girl? This Bain & Bernard original features a host of improvisational antics, lively sound effects, and literary puns to keep audiences young and old laughing throughout the journey through the enchanted forest.
